It was another opportunity to catch up with many friends, both old and new, and to showcase Good For Ewe's activities. Over 100 visitors enjoyed the site tours, friendly chat, and excellent food. Well done to all the volunteers who helped by preparing the site, cooking and baking, picking and selling produce, donating raffle prizes, and running everything on the day. Six new members joined during their visit and we raised over £300 from the raffle, produce, and food sales. GFE Open Day - 13 Aug 11 29 June 2011
BBC Alba filming at GFE 11 June 2011 Tern Television will be filming at the GFE site on Saturday 11th June 2011 for the second series of BBC Alba's Anns a Gharradh In the Garden) programme. They are particularly interested in the horticultural therapy side of things so they will do a tour of the site and then interview some of the guys from the Westlife group. They are coming Saturday morning at 9 am and plan to be there till approximately lunch time. The workday will still go ahead as planned (10am - 3pm) - the TV people are pleased that there might be people milling about in the background whilst filming. Anyone who would like to appear on the programme or say a little about GFE is more than welcome and if anyone would like to speak in Gaelic then they would be guaranteed a spot on the programme. It would be nice to do a little tidying prior to their arrival so if anyone can make it down to the site between now and Saturday to weed and tidy up, that would be great. |
